The MCing at Mass is an annoyance to me too. We have a hymn board, but the cantor still announces everything. I can’t blame the cantor because she is only doing what Father wants her to do. He’s been known to repeat himself if we don’t say ‘Amen’ loud enough to suit him. I love him and appreciate his orthodoxy, but he’s a little too ‘active participation means doings lots of stuff’ for my taste.
Also annoying to me is when the cantor raises her hands during the responsorial psalm. I mean we do this every week, we know what to do, we don’t need a prompt. But every cantor does this, so they must teach it at cantor school.
Yep. They do teach the raising hands thing at Cantor School. I’ve been there. Ugh!
I looked in the iTunes feed and it doesn’t seem like this latest episode is downloading.
